Watara MAYONYA (Chairman of the Board)
B. Proc, LLB, H. Dip Company-Law        
He advises on all aspects of corporate law, including mergers, acquisitions, stock exchange listing, competition law & regulatory issues. Watara has extensive knowledge of privatization. He has worked with clients such as MSF Bank Benin, AAGF, Micro Bank Benin, UBA Vie Assurance, Fema Bank and Ariel Technologies (PTY) Ltd and many others. In the telecommunication section he advised France Telecom during the initial privatization of Libercom Limited in Benin , advised Libercom on its litigation & collection matters, was appointed by the Minister of Safety and Security to act as chairperson of the Police Mechanism Trust. He has also given advice on regulatory knowledge in respect to competition law that he gained in there as a part time tribunal member in the international; and domestic market. During 2005 he was appointed as a Special adviser to the Minister of Public Works and has currently been assisting the North West Provincial government with various re-structuring projects. He is the Chairman of committee of lawyers. Mr Mayonya is able to assist in high profile government matters, mergers and acquisitions, and competition law issues.

AKOUEGNISO AMAVI (Managing Director)

BA, LLB, LLM MAP (Wits Business School)      
Akouegniso
obtained his BA and LLB degrees from the University of Agbomey - Calavi, and his LLM focused on financial and  Payment Management with Mayonya Law Firm, Insurance and Human rights Law. He later obtained his Management Advancement Program from Wits Business School. He was admitted as an Attorney in 1995, and practiced in KZN. As an Attorney he has 15 years experience focused on commercial law, matrimonial, drafting of contracts, opinions and litigation for local Municipalities, Banks, Government and large corporate. He was part of the management team, supervising various branches, assisting the executive team since 2000 and played a part in the effort to transform both in the terms of Amendment Act and the pending no-fault legislation. He also did research for the General Council Benin Bar Association which focused on road accident insurance cover. In 2007, he advised and acted on behalf of  the Minister of Transport. He joined Mayonya Incorporated in 2007 where he is currently managing the practice and the litigation department. He is a leading expert in insurance law, and can offer specialized advice on the new Companies Act, practice management, media and commercial law. He also guides the firm in its staff development, pro-bono work, and community programs which is the firm’s key concern.

Gloria SINZOU
B. Proc, LLB, LLM degree in Corporate Law    
Gloria was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of Benin, Atlantique Monument Division in April 2000 and has been in the practise since then and is currently a financial director at Mayonya Incorporated in Benin.
She is currently completing her LLM in Intellectual Property Law with the University of Benin. She practices in all aspects of commercial law and commercial contracting, corporate law, commercial litigation, intellectual property, family law litigation, personal injury claims (mainly on behalf of the Road Accident Fund) and has gained extensive experience in general commercial and corporate law and has provided legal options on a wide range of commercial law matters.
She has provided legal opinions in a wide range of commercial law matters and acted as an advisor to Icab during the USAL hearing and also advised BAML on labour related issues. She is currently advising SMMC Ghana on various matters as well as Government and parastatals. In addition to her duties as Financial Director she supervises the personal injury /
BAR, intellectual property and family law sections

Aisha  MAHMOUD
B. Proc, LLB                         
Aisha currently practices in all aspects of: Civil litigation, criminal litigation and personal injury claims (mainly on behalf of the BAR). Aisha acted as a manager at the JDA for two years. She is a duly appointed commissioner dealing with tax appeals for BARS. During May 2008 she joined Mayonya Inc, and was appointed as a director in 2010. Her clients include the BUL and BARS. Aisha is a team leader in the commercial and corporate litigation, insurance and personal injury litigation team, and is also the Director in charge of HR/staff issues and Administrative matters in the practice.

Vannerie ADJOVI

B. Jury, LLB                               
Vannerie was admitted as an Attorney in 2008 her fields of expertise lie in Civil litigation, Personal injury claims (mainly on behalf of BAR). She joined Mayonya Inc in 2007 where she served her articles, where after she was appointed as a Personal Assistant. In 2010 she was appointed as a Director. Vannerie’s focus is on personal injury and family law, and is the Board Secretary.

Venon ADJAVON

B. Proc, LLB           
Venon was admitted as an Attorney in 2001. She joined the BAR  as a Legal Costs adviser and after a year was promoted to Senior legal costs adviser. She acted as a Manager for the legal costs department for a period of a year. During 2008 she joined Mayonya Inc, as a manager of their Legal costs Department and was promoted as a Director in 2010. Venon’s field of expertise: Legal costs, debt collection and commercial litigation. Venon leads the finance team, and is the Executive liaison between Finance, Management and the Executive team.
